ZONET Online Membership Agreement



This agreement is between Zomi International Network and individual or organization who join ZONET as online members, who subscribe to ZONET on the Yahoo! Groups. Members here means any individual   or organization who subscribe to ZONET (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zomi and http://zomi.org ). ZONET here means Zomi International Network. 

 

Moderators of ZONET will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore members acknowledge that all posts made to ZONET express the views and opinions of the author and not the moderators (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable. 

 

Members agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws of your country of residence. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned and your Internet service provider being informed. The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. 

 

Members agree that moderators of ZONET have the right to reject, remove, delete or close any topic at any time. Moderators will take immediate action if any member violates "Rules No. 4 of posting messages to ZONET. 

 

Members agree that any information, messages posted to ZONET are being stored in a database and ZONET may re-produce in electronic forms or print media. 


General Rules for online members of Zomi International Network


1. Membership

·         Everyone who have reached the age of majority in his/her country of residence and has interest for the better future of Zomi.

·         Every Zomi, regardless of religious beliefs and political affiliations, can become member of ZONET.

·          New members must provide full name, country of residence and place of birth.

·          Moderators have the right to ask any information if your membership intention is in doubt.



2. Posting Messages to ZONET

Messages sent to ZONET must be directly or indirectly related to Zomi issues. Members must understand with the limited resource we have, the Groups must be used for the best interest of Zomi. The following is general criteria of messages posted to ZONET.

No sexually explicit content.

·         No hatred, abusive or discriminative content.

·         No personal mail or attack.

·         No discussion on religious doctrines.

·         No chain mails

·         No invitation mail to dating sites, or other websites that deemed to be commercial.

·          No defamation to individuals, groups, organizations.

Messages posted to ZONET must be at least 5 sentences and must not be more than 3 pages. Messages more than 5 pages should be sent in attachment.

ZONET can only be used for announcement for death of a relative. Any condolences messages must be sent directly to the concerned persons. If the person is a leader of Zomi community or organization, some one who has significant contribution to Zomi, this rules will not be applied.

4. Members' obligation and liability

 Never forget that the person on the other side is human.  Don't assume that a person is speaking for their organization.  Be careful what you say about others.  Be brief.  Write well. Use descriptive subject lines.  Think about your audience.  Be careful with humor and sarcasm. Only post a message once. -          Cite appropriate references.  Please do not use ZONET as an advertising medium.
